What do all professors like? Good students... So hence my plan to "fool" professors commences now. But then I don't think I was that successful all these years.. I mean I should be really close to some prof now if it worked...
The first class of Quantum Info. Processing course was scary. Lots of wierd people and honestly speaking, a wierd prof too. I mean the prof was playing with the toyes in the room. (the projectors and what not etc) I got real time coming up. Let's hope that the prof is going to take it easy on us. hehehehehe

Whether I like it or not, the term started. I've been yawning a lot sitting here in the lab and waiting for the class. Froshes make the school cluttered and I have applications to figure out.
Anyhow, hope that the term will go smooth! And let me hope that the first psych class is going to be fun.

3:01 pm - 2nd of "Quitting" and craving...!

Hmm, I must have smoked a lot for the past couple of years. Seems like it's harder to quit this time. I'm craving a lot today somehow. Looks like these nicotine patches don't help much. -_-
Anyhow, guess I still have a few more days until the school starts. When I come to think of it, I didn't do what I was going to do today. Probably I should walk over to the used book store and by that psych text. Hmm... wonder if Real Time has textbooks.

2:12 pm - It's been long.. yes.. I'm about to end my bum life in Korea.

Hehe... Soon I get to go back to Canada and start pretending that I don't speak English! w00t! Anyhow, the summer is almost over and I don't really know what it went by so fast. Making some cash helped a little, but not substantially. The thing is... I miss Canada. This bloody place is just so boring (?).
Well well, wonder how the fall term is going to turn out. I'm taking Realtime and I know that I'm going to stink and be hungry. People... good people out there... HELP!

Windows isn't that bad for dumb computing. ;-) I started to learn some bits of Windows programming following my mom's advice. Looks like MFC is easy enough. Maybe I'll try to make a little game with DirectX and use MFC to provide configuration part.
Think bare OpenGL + X Windows programming was much easier. Bloody windows has too many GUI crap when it doesn't need one. -_-
Anyhow, let's hope that I'll learn something this summer.

Okay... Life here is messed up... Money problem is driving me insane. -_- Wonder how long my brother will make it through with 1 dollar. Need some kind of solution here and I can't seem to find one. Oh well, we'll see tomorrow.

So long for the summer. Too bad that I'm leaving the country with somebody in mind. Oh well, guess I can't sort that out now. Will have to do sort it out when I come back from the summer.

It took me a while to get to this solution. Unix permissions are very tight and some libraries are missing. So... to make my life easier, I decided to use windows RDP thing at school. Installed Gaim and now I can chat as much as I want. I can even type Korean in!
Oh boy, that was a serious score today.

Damn, may 10th seems so far... I'm pretty much bored to death, and don't know what to do. Anyhow, today's attempt of hanging out with friends didn't work. It failed. Yesterday was a success, so 1:1. hehehe...

I was skimming through POVray source code, and came across this comment in one of the destructors for image handling class.

Although the comment made perfect sense in the context, it made me chuckle as I would write such comments in any code. I also came across a usefull debugging technique in POVray source code. Probably, I'm going to end up writing a little documentation for it. When I read it, I just coulidn't believe that I didn't think about it before. Really, it was such a simple, but elegant technique.
My friend sent me a message telling me that he decided to go to the army. This mandatory Korean army bullshit is driving me nuts. Assholes... I hate you all.
So killing time seems to be working somewhat, and as usual, without assignments to do, being at school isn't that exciting either. Life for now is a hell.

|
Marks are coming out... So far I only got my cryptography marks back... I ended up getting 83 in the course, and I am very happy about it. Funny thing is... I couldn't do one last question on the final exam and it was worth 10 marks. I got 63/72 on the final exam. This implies that I got everything right except the last question.
Wow... This is suprising...!

The term is over... So headed over to my friend's place, and it turns out, he's got the movie, A Beautiful Mind! So I watched, and loved it sooo much. An amazing story of a mathematician... Hope I won't turn too insane when I get all the degress I want. :-)
It's an amazing movie, and everyone should watch it!

Wow, Opera 8 is out....! For those who don't know what this is... check out opera.com
I used Opera as my main browser for some time now. Opera 8 is just astonishing. It's super fast on this 333mhz machine. This thing probably is much faster then Firefox now!

Hmm... To further stay away from studying for my PMATH exam, I decided to play with XFCE. Wow, I tried it a long time ago when it just got started. It's amazing how it got matured over the time.

2:42 am - Objective-C

Hmm, I've been trying to port my raytracer written in C++ to Objective-C. It looks pretty good so far. C++ is a good language, but it takes forever to compile on low end machines. (This maybe a GCC issue as I've never used MSVC++.)
What are the things I like about Objective-C? There are quiet a few so far. The compilation speed is almost as fast as C compilation. This kind of gives me a feeling that GCC does some kind of magic to translate most of the code into C. I've seen on the net that this used to be the case. There's no bloody templates. Templates are cool, but they are just too much for me to understand. :-) What else? Hmm, I like it's "feel".
I still haven't figured out how to do private member variables and methods. But this is really a software engineering issue, and I'll look into the details as I gain more experience coding in Objective-C.
Learning a new programming language is fun. Hmm, maybe I should make it goal of my life to learn/play with C variants. Wonder what C variants are out there...!

It's almost over... Life goes on... Hmm, makes me wonder what stops changing over time. I mean I'm not the same little kid who came to Canada in grade 9. A lot of other things changed since then... The whole world did...
Hmm, I'm happy that this term is almost over, and I'm worried that Grad School application madness is coming up. Am I getting that old? So old that I'm about to try out for the second highest degree in my field soon?
Anyhow, summer doesn't look attractive. Maybe it will if I can find some beautiful girl who will pay for all the dates! (puhahahahahaha!) *goes to dream about the evil empire*
